“Doe” - Diptych, acrylic on canvas.

“Slow” is a series made in collaboration with Joe Pucciarelli of LOOP Photography. The idea is inspired by an oft and overused quote said to new mothers to placate their exhaustion and frustration: “The days are long, but the years are short.” In response to this, I created 365 clay polymer snails as a metaphor for the meandering and strange passage of time as a full-time caregiver with a toddler, a tongue-in-cheek representation of my mental state as a mother.
